Every time I took my kids to the beach when they were little, we would spend half a day back at home again trying to figure out what we had seen and the names of shells and seaweed we had collected. We often didn't find answers, but the search was just as rewarding in its own way as the original experience, though not as . . .immediate as sun and water and sand!
